‘Cannabis Use Among Cancer Survivors’, a monograph from the Journal of the National Cancer Institute

In a survey across 12 cancer centers, over 30% reported cannabis use since diagnosis with the most common perceived benefits to be for pain, sleep, stress, anxiety & treatment side effects

“Reported perceived risks were less common and included inability to drive, difficulty concentrating, lung damage, addiction, and impact on employment. It's not well enough known that when orally ingesting cannabis, your liver converts the delta-9 THC to 11-OH-delta 9-THC which is ~5 to 7 times more psychoactive. So in earlier American & Indian history when eating hashish was more common, catatonia from cannabis was a more often seen symptom. People always go on about how weed is stronger these days, but we're not getting high like Fitzhugh Ludlow the Hasheesh Eater.
